Anadolu Bilişim Implemented its Data Center Infrastructure Renewal Project in Cooperation with NGN

Anadolu Bilişim implemented its Data Center Infrastructure Renewal Project in cooperation with NGN and EMC, and tripled its performance.

Anadolu Bilişim provides service to over 50 thousand corporate users in 15 countries and increased its performance and efficiency thanks to the business partnership with NGN, one of the leading IT companies in Turkey. Anadolu Bilişim changed its data center infrastructure in a very short time with EMC technologies provided by NGN. Anadolu Bilişim can now transmit back-up data to its data center in Ankara instantly rather than every hour by using an EMC RecoverPoint replication solution and it also achieved 40 percent saving in terms of use of line.

NGN, one of the leading IT companies in Turkey, continues to consolidate its relationships with business partners. NGN is a ‘‘Gold Business Partner’’ of EMC, which is one of the biggest technology brands in the world, and strives to provide its clients with high performance and efficiency.

Anadolu Bilişim is a leading player in IT services sector in Turkey and has been partnering with NGN since 2013. Anadolu Bilişim is the licensed service business partner of the leading suppliers in the industry for corporate applications such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), business intelligence (BI), big data analysis etc. and commissioned Anadolu Bilişim Data Center in Maltepe in 2011 in accordance with the international Tier-III standards. Anadolu Bilişim provides hosting, virtualization, data backup, data recovery, emergency center (EC) services, operating systems management, physical infrastructural services, managed security services, field services, database management, messaging/texting in various technology platforms and video conference services, outsourcing services and cloud computing services, and used NGN’s experience to increase the capacity of its existing data storage devices. NGN and Anadolu Bilişim have implemented many important projects together based on mutual trust and business partnership so far. Recently, these two companies have worked on the Anadolu Bilişim’s data center infrastructure changes. Yılmaz Filiz, Anadolu Bilişim’s Server and Infrastructure Management Team Manager, said that they used Vplex infrastructure, which is a EMC technology, during this process and added: “We estimated that the process of changing the data stores at Anadolu Bilişim Data Center would take 3 months based on our previous experience; however; we changed the data stores of our data center only in 1 month period by using EMC Vplex infrastructure without having any problems during the process. In this way, both our speed has increased by 3 times more and we have eliminated our risks. This enabled us to build trust in the services that we provide”. Mr. Filiz indicated that they worked with NGN team intensively in this project and “We completed the process without having any technical problems and tiredness thanks to the specialized staff of NGN. We also started to partner in different fields through the relationship developed based on the approach, interest, attention and support of NGN and EMC teams. The business partnership that started by changing the data stores has increasingly continued with the service support in terms of server, network and security”.

Yılmaz Filiz, Anadolu Bilişim’s Server and Infrastructure Management Team Manager indicated that they have increased the quality and ensured continuity of the services they provide to customers thanks to the projects implemented with NGN business partnership and added: “As Anadolu Bilişim, we also provide Disaster Recovery service to our clients. At this point, our most important target is to ensure business continuity of our clients. We were previously fulfilling this duty with manual intervention by using RecoverPoint solution of EMC. We created new data store infrastructure in line with our needs here. For this infrastructure, we placed two separate VNX data storage devices and Vplex, which is the storage virtualization layer of EMC, in front of them. We established infrastructure that offers significant advantages together with the performance increase achieved with this structure that enables to store the data on two different stores at the same time in terms of business continuity. Our performance has increased by over 100 percent with these new solutions”. “With this infrastructure, we have gained the ability to include new data storage devices into our systems very easily and uninterruptedly and ensure that our clients try the new technologies without any service interruption. Besides, we consolidate infrastructure communication network by changing the SAN infrastructure and using enterprise SAN Director instead of conventional switch’’.

Yılmaz Filiz also state that they now have ability to provide ‘business continuity’ without any problem thanks to the business partnership with NGN and added: “With Vplex infrastructure, we provide our clients with the opportunity of accessing to the source continuously. There is always possibility of interruption if you provide the client with data store service from a single source. With Vplex, we are now able to tell companies ‘we can provide you with this service from two sources’. We also eliminate the risks. Besides, we can provide our clients, which perform e-commerce activities and for which continuity is crucial, with second VNX service according a disaster recovery scenario although no interruption is prescribed to occur”.

Anadolu Bilişim has a Disaster Recovery Center in Ankara. Mr. Filiz indicated that they are transmitting backup data (replication) from Anadolu Bilişim Data Center in Istanbul to the data center in Ankara. “We are now transmitting the backup data ‘instantly’ rather than every hour thanks to RecoverPoint, which is EMC technology that was provided to us by NGN. In brief, we ensure business continuity by using Vplex technology without having any interruption and provide instant backup data transmission service to Ankara with RecoverPoint. In particular, we safely meet these needs of our clients that are obliged to keep e-invoice and e-book due to legal regulations by using our new systems”.

WE SAVED 40 PERCENT ON LINE COSTS

Yaser Aras, Anadolu Bilişim’s Transformation Projects and Customer Relations Group Manager, indicated that they meet the needs of clients for business continuity, performance and reliability by using EMC Technology and saved 40% on costs for communication lines used for data replication thanks to RecoverPoint. Mr. Aras also added that they develop different works thanks to the work discipline, strong communication and result-oriented approach between NGN and Anadolu Bilişim.

VPLEX TECHNOLOGY MAKES YOU FEEL SAFE

Dilek Süer, NGN Sale Director, emphasized the investments they made for EMC solutions and indicated that following up the latest technology products and providing the newest industrial solutions to clients requires added value and vision and said: “Flexibility offered by Vplex and performance and efficiency that our business partners provide to their clients make us think that we are doing our business excellently. It also makes us feel safe on our side and on behalf of our clients’’.

Ercan Özkurt, NGN Presales Team Leader, said: We understood the needs of clients very well before starting the project and created the most suitable solutions as a result of analyzes performed. We designed the project based on the factors “flexibility, efficiency and continuity’’. We took into consideration the existing data storage systems as well as existing server structures, performance, capacity and growth trends of Anadolu Bilişim and used EMC tools in order to identify the needs. As a result of these works, we offered a successful solution with EMC VPLEX, VNX2, RECOVERPOINT and BROCADE products.
