About WannaCry Virus Spreading Worldwide

Many of you have already heard about WannaCry virus spreading worldwide. Although dramatically exaggerated in media, the danger does really exist and is rather serious. Experts believe that many, not less horrid, modifications of this virus will appear soon.
Here are some basic recommendations on how to minimize infection risk:
-Regularly install Windows updates and restart your PC
-Use an antivirus
-Activate firewalls built in most home routers and use Windows local firewall
-Keep personal files or their backup copies in a cloud storage
-Think twice before opening any email attachments or, best of all, never open files you have not expected to receive
-Do not install software on your PC from untrusted sources
To prevent WannaCry injection, activate your Windows Update function and install all OS updates or download and install MS17-010 patch from the Microsoft website, and then restart your PC. To combat this ransomware, Microsoft released updates even for obsolete, no longer supported systems, such as Windows XP, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2003, with all updates being available on the Microsoft website.
If WannaCry is already inside your computer, do the following to remove the virus:
1-Restart your PC in safe mode with network drivers
2-If you are unsure about deleting the virus yourself, employ antivirus software, like SpyHunter Anti-Malware Tool, Malwarebytes Anti-malware or STOPZilla
3-The last but not least thing to do is to restore encrypted files. Do it after WannaCry removal only or otherwise you may damage system files and registry. To restore files, employ decryptors, ShadowExplorer or Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery.
Keep in mind, however, that these methods do not guarantee complete file restoration.
Be careful and enjoy secure Internet connection!
