“IDC IT Security Roadshow”, the biggest security event of the year, took place in Istanbul on February 16th this year. NGN participated the event as principal sponsor and presented the innovative security solutions and services with its business partner EfficientIP in Turkey to the participants. 

“IDC IT Security Roadshow’’ is participated by Turkey’s most widely followed IT security experts, analysts and companies and focuses on the latest technology developments in security. The event took place in Istanbul on February 16th this year. NGN, one of the leading IT companies in Turkey, also participated the event and NGN Technical Operations Director Ufuk Yaşıbeyli draw attention to the big losses suffered by the companies due to cyberattacks. 

ADVANCED SECURITY SOLUTIONS ARE REQUIRED 

Mr. Yaşibeyli indicated that 50 million new malicious softwares emerged in 2015. Also, cyberattacks increased by 40 percent as compared to the previous year. Mr. Yaşıbeyli announced that the number of attacks on target system sources in multiple systems or bandwidth (DDoS Attacks) increased by 132 percent compared to 2014. He emphasized that this fast increase indicates the insufficiency of conventional security solutions and added: “Therefore, the need for new and advanced solutions like those developed by ‘Efficient IP’ is increasingly growing”. 

Mr. Yaşıbeyli pointed out that these attacks cause damage and cost for companies and added: “According to the study conducted by IDC, companies are facing 44% increase in application downtime due to cyberattacks. They experience loss of intellectual property by 41%, and 44% of the companies indicate that the website bears risk”. 

Mr. Yaşıbeyli drew attention to the fact that particularly the DNS attacks have taken a new shape and “Conventional security solutions fail to provide protection against these attacks”. He also indicated that companies take standard measures such as ‘firewall’, ‘anti DDoS devices’, ‘IPS’, ‘secure web gateway’ etc. and “We, together with EfficentIP, are offering innovative, 360 degree solutions particularly against DNS attacks. EfficientIP detects the failures that occur due to multiple DNS engines, disables the failed operation and activates another operation that can replace the failed one”. 

SECURITY WITH IMPERVA AT FİNANSBANK

In the event, Finansbank IBTech’s Consulting Security Designer Erdem Alaşehir made a presentation titled “What came out of DAM, SIEM and Big Data cooperation in Finance sector?” and said "It is becoming more difficult to secure the systems that are not monitored properly" and added that the business processes of Finansbank were accelerated with Imperva and significant contribution was made in terms of efficiency and Imperva made it easy for them to respond to instant requests of internal clients. Finansbank has increased its data security system capacity eight times thanks to the cooperation with NGN which started three years ago, and continues to enhance its data security projects with Imperva.
