NGN has staged ‘Сybercrime Investigation for Windows-based Computers’ workshop and demonstrated latest data and infrastructure security solutions at the Cyber Security Forum & Expо, an event held on May 16-18 by the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain.

During the forum, attendees could consult information security specialists and learn about NGN solutions designed to protect data, IT infrastructure, network, apps, and application systems as well as to monitor and manage information security.

Group IB, an NGN partner in information security solutions, spoke about the evolution of targeted attacks against financial institutions. Tim Bobak, Threat Intel Outreach, gave an overview of the surge in the number of targeted attacks by Russian hackers on banks worldwide, their tactics and techniques, and forecasted activity in the near future.

The closing day of the event was entirely dedicated to specialized training workshops. Efficient IP, an NGN partner in DNS security, held a workshop on business data protection against DNS-based exploits, thus explaining to the participants why and how DNS can be attacked and protected.

As part of its workshop, NGN shared the foundations and advanced techniques of investigating cybercrimes against PCs running Windows. Step by step, the participants, guided by an instructor, learnt how to identify an attack type, find intruder’s footprints, and properly collect evidence to thoroughly analyze computer information and prosecute criminals.

However, we have to admit that attacks are becoming more and more sophisticated and 'physical', as they destruct data and damage physical resources and infrastructure. Therefore, we believe that specialists must be trained in both combating attacks, and mitigating possible consequences," noted Yaqoob Alawadhi, CEO, NGN International.

During the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Ahmed Naeemi, BIBF’s head of Operations, IT and Project Management Centre, presented NGN an award for its contribution to cyber security education.

The Cyber Security Forum & Expo organized by the BIBF is considered the largest annual national event dedicated to Cyber Security. This year's event brought together the best international professionals in cyber security to offer interactive workshops and training sessions.
